New Zealand Spinach

Certified Organic. New Zealand Spinach is our favourite summer spinach alternative. Extremely tasty with more texture than true spinach. Since arriving in the seed catalogues about 10 years ago this novel leaf is growing in popularity. There are various spinach alternatives for the hot months when the true version is hard to grow in the British Isles, such as Perpetual Spinach, Malabar Spinach, Caucasian Spinach etc - but we particularly love Tetragonia tetragonoides in terms of both flavour and productivity. It's not actually related to true spinach at all, neither is it grown in New Zealand; rest assured, all our New Zealand spinach is grown in our Wye Valley market garden. Wilt in butter or add to a mixed vegetable dish as you would true spinach (stalks and all). 240g bag.
